If I were to look within
Being a 26-year-old middle-class man is never easy. Every day we wake up with these dreams that we got to do something today, we got to improve our skills, we got to build ourselves, we got to be a better person, we got to achieve greatness and then we realize it's time for bed. Your time was spent just thinking, your time was spent working for somebody else so that you can put food on the table, and your time was spent talking about your problems with your close ones.
You realize you never actually did something to change the way you are. You never took that first step towards achieving greatness. You were lost in your thoughts. Thinking about the future, driving these million-dollar cars, and having a nice house is all a fairy tale in your head until the reality hits you. You dream of being a billionaire but the price of a new hatchback scares you. You question yourself if you can make it to the top. You question the path you chose to walk. You question your existence. You question everything!
You are lost again. You don't know where to start. You don't know if you're doing the right thing. You look for help but you're afraid to ask. You feel you'll be judged by your people. You feel you'll be looked down on. You're back to square one, just where you started. You take some time off. You believe you need time to get your mindset right, you believe you have to work harder, you make a comeback, and then the reality hits you again. You've lost so much time in finding yourself. The world has moved forward. There's no going back. You're only option is to move forward. You have a family that looks up to you. You have a dad who hasn't retired even at the age of 60. You have a mom who's working even in her late 40s and a sister at the age of starting a family of her own. And there you are, lost, doubting yourself, feeling helpless, procrastinating, yet dreaming of better days.
No amount of motivational videos can help you. No amount of self-talk can help you either. You have to start and see it through until finish. You either fail or you succeed. That's the only way. That's the only way to achieve greatness.
